A Closer Look at the IFC Church Doctrinal Foundation

At IFC Church, we believe in the power of God’s Word to guide and transform lives. Our foundational doctrines shape everything we do – from our worship services to our outreach efforts to the way we treat each other. If you’re considering visiting IFCC or want to understand what we believe, this post is for you.

Grounded in Scripture

The cornerstone of our faith is the Bible. We believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testament are God’s inspired Word – trustworthy, authoritative, and relevant for us today. The Bible guides our understanding of who God is, reveals His plan for our salvation, and provides direction for how to live in a way that honors Him.

Our Core Beliefs

While we embrace a wide range of Christian backgrounds at IFC Church, we are unified by these fundamental doctrines:

  • One God, Three Persons: We believe in one God eternally existing as Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19)

  • Jesus: True God and True Man: We believe that Jesus, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, rose again from the dead, and ascended to heaven, where He now intercedes for us. He will one day return in power and glory. (Colossians 1:26-27, Philippians 2:6-11)

  • Salvation By Grace Through Faith: We believe that every person has fallen short of God’s perfect standard and is in need of forgiveness. We receive this free gift of salvation not through our own efforts, but by placing our faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for us. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • The Holy Spirit’s Power: Every believer receives the Holy Spirit to empower them to live a life that is pleasing to God, growing in Christlikeness and bearing good fruit. (Galatians 5:16-25)

  • The Church: A Unified Body: We believe that the church is made up of all those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ, and that we are called to gather together for worship, support, teaching, and serving others. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 10:23-25).

  • The Great Commission: We are passionate about fulfilling Jesus’ command to share the Good News of the Gospel with the whole world. We support missionaries, participate in local outreach, and strive to make disciples who are equipped to live out their faith. (Matthew 28:18-20)

A Foundation for Growth & Love

These core doctrines form the bedrock of our faith at IFC Church. They guide our preaching, inform our ministries, shape our interactions, and motivate us to live lives that reflect the love and grace of God.

We embrace a spirit of unity, mutual respect, and acceptance as we come together with a variety of theological viewpoints, finding common ground in these core truths of Scripture. This allows IFC Church to be a place where believers from diverse backgrounds can learn from each other, support one another, and build a strong foundation for spiritual growth.
