The choir at IFC Church is much more than a group of talented vocalists—it’s a dynamic expression of our church’s heart for joyful worship and a testament to the power of music to build community. We believe that music plays a vital role in deepening our connection with God, strengthening bonds among believers, and creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere where hearts are lifted in praise and lives are transformed.
A Chorus of Resilience and Faith
The journey of our Music Ministry hasn’t always been smooth. In 2021, we faced a decline in membership due to individuals relocating, a situation many choirs experience. Sadly, we also experienced the heartbreaking loss of Brother Charles Charity Ikpekpe, a deeply valued tenor whose musical gift and dedication are dearly missed. Yet, in true testament to the resilient spirit of our Music Ministry, our dedication to sharing God’s love through music never wavered. We persevered with a predominantly female choir, eventually welcoming new voices and witnessing a steady regrowth of our beloved ministry.
We held onto our core vision—leading the congregation in passionate worship and using music as a tool to reach hearts, foster fellowship, and proclaim the Gospel. Despite the pandemic’s challenges and the cancellation of our annual retreat, our dedication to praising God through song never ceased.
Triumphant Notes of Unity:
Our Music Ministry rallied, collaborated with the Women’s Ministry, and organized a memorable Total Praise Service. Even with a slightly smaller group, we ended the year with a soul-stirring Christmas caroling event, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to serving God through music, no matter the obstacle.
